Water is our workplace and with two thirds of the world covered with it we take it as our responsibility to protect and preserve what is around us.
Our resolve as a company is to develop our products to the highest standards AND improve their impact on the environment as an ongoing concern.
This maybe as simple as making an item strong enough to last a few more seasons, or more significantly working backwards from the finished product to our suppliers and agents to promote greener practices and use of materials that have a lower impact.
We are involved with organisations and trade bodies that actively promote better environmental policy or simply campaign for improved use of resources and responsible access for all.
Where we are:
 |
|
Energy consumption:
We have carbon offset our entire gas supply by buying Carbon credits known as CER's - our financial contribution goes into carbon reduction projects in developing nations. This offsetting ensures that production of our Dagger and Islander kayaks is carbon neutral- a paddle-sport industry first. The heat generated from the ovens during production is redistributed back into the factory for heating.
Low energy lighting:
Eccotricity, a renewable source energy supplier, provides all our electricity needs.
Our head quarters use low energy lighting throughout the building and we turn off lights when not in use - simple but smart.
